Novos Dental Clinic has a fantastic opportunity for an Out of Hours Qualified Dental Nurse to join our wonderful team. We are recruiting a hardworking, reliable and dedicated Dental Nurse to join our well-respected team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality dental services. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong organisational ability, and team working capabilities. The candidate must be familiar with dental software Exact/SOE to manage patient records and appointments effectively.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during emergency dental procedures, ensuring that the patient is comfortable and informed throughout the process.
- Maintaining immaculate surgery
- Prepare and sterilise dental instruments and equipment, adhering to strict Infection control procedures and the HTM 01-05.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans and medical histories, using Exact/SOE software.
- Managing and maintaining appropriate dental materials and stock levels within surgery
- Communicate effectively with patients.
- Can maintain good care of dental equipment; flushing lines and disinfection in accordance with HTM 01-05
- Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up reminders to optimise patient flow within the practice.
- Support the dental team in maintaining a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Support the patient and their colleagues if there is a medical emergency
- Stay updated with advancements in dental practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
- May be required to cover reception / admin duties
- Expected to maintain effective infection control within clinical area, including brooming and mopping surgery

Late evenings :
Tuesday- 6.30pm - 11pm
Thursday- 6.30pm - 11pm
Weekends :
Saturday - 10am - 4pm (1 hour lunch)
Sunday - 10am - 2pm (1 hour lunch)
Requirements
- Qualified Dental Nurse with relevant certification, GDC registration and relevant indemnity in place.
- Staying up to date with current NHS guidelines and up to date with CPDs.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
- May be required as cover staff if necessary
- Excellent team working skills
- Effective timekeeping
- Proficient IT skills for managing electronic patient records and scheduling systems.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A compassionate approach towards patient care, ensuring comfort and understanding at all times.
- At least two years experience as a qualified nurse.
