Dental Practice Manager/Receptionist

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Part-Time Practice Manager to join our well-established 2-surgery private dental practice, recently taken over by a new owner with an exciting vision for growth and excellence. The practice operates on a fully private basis with Denplan, and we are now looking for a strong manager to support the owner in developing the business, leading the team, and maintaining the highest standards of patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, management experience, and a comprehensive understanding of financial and human resources management within a healthcare setting. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead a dedicated team, ensure smooth practice operations, and uphold the highest standards of patient care.

Duties

  • Supervise and support dental practice staff, including receptionists, dental nurses, and hygienists, fostering a positive working environment
  • Manage daily practice operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Overseeing compliance, CQC, and practice policies
  • Managing rotas, KPIs, and financial performance
  • Oversee financial management tasks such as budgeting, billing, and expense control
  • Coordinate human resources activities including recruitment, training, performance reviews, and staff development programmes
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure adherence to confidentiality and data protection standards
  • Implement practice policies and procedures to optimise patient experience and operational effectiveness
  • Liaise with external suppliers, insurance providers, and regulatory bodies as required
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement in practice performance

Requirements

  • Proven supervising or management experience within a healthcare or dental environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Sound knowledge of financial management principles relevant to healthcare practices
  • Experience in human resources management, including recruitment and staff development
  • Good understanding of private Dentistry
  • Confident with compliance, HR, and practice systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team and liaise with patients and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of relevant health regulations and compliance standards in dental practice management
