Job Description

An opportunity has become available for a part time/full time qualified dental nurse to join our friendly, professional team at our dental practice based in Chorley.

The position is for 4 days a week, this is a permanent position.

The right candidate must be a highly motivated, well organised, and enthusiastic individual who prides themselves on providing exceptional patient care. You must be IT literate (ideally with experience of using SOE), have excellent clinical and administrative skills and be happy to follow our practice policies and procedures. Good communication and interpersonal skills as well as a sound knowledge of HTM-01-05 would be preferred.

As an independent family run dental practice who provide a wide variety of advanced treatments to our patients, there is great potential for the successful candidate to expand their clinical knowledge and skills.

We believe that training is key to creating and maintaining the ideal dental team. All new team members are given close support throughout their initial training and beyond.

*Requirements:*

· Qualification in Dental Nursing

· Evidence of registration with the General Dental Council

· Evidence of Indemnity insurance

· Post qualification experience

· Ability to provide a portfolio of documented evidence of CPD attained

· Evidence of hepatitis B immunisation

*Your role will include (but is not limited to):*

· Escorting patients from the waiting room to the surgery

· Confirming patient’s medical history records are up to date

· Providing chairside support to the dentist or hygienist/therapist during treatment

· Preparing and processing dental instruments and materials as required in line with current regulations (including HTM-01-05)

· Assisting in the keeping of full and accurate patient records and ensuring that they are regularly updated and stored securely.

· Ensuring all lab work is checked and available prior to the patient’s arrival where required

· Assisting in taking and processing radiographs (according to your level of training)

· Receiving and dealing with patients and visitors in a pleasant and prompt manner at all times.
